Description

In celebration of the publication of his book Frostbite, horror author David Wellington has a gift for you. In fact, thirty little gifts, one a day for thirty days, sure to delight and enthrall. That is, if you dare to read them...

The author of Monster Island, the 13 Bullets series, and the upcoming Frostbite made his mark reinventing the classic monsters for the 21st century—zombies, vampires, and now werewolves. He got his start serializing his novels on the web in short, bite-sized installments. Now he’s got something really special in mind.

For the next thirty days, every single day, David Wellington will release a complete short story. Some are terrifying—some are hilarious—and some are just downright bizarre. They all have one thing in common, though: they’re absolutely free to read and share.

If you enjoy the stories, or want to read more of Wellington’s work, you may wish to check out Frostbite as well, available October 10th from Three Rivers Press.

Wellinton's stories are great-and addictive-food for thought

David Wellington has managed to delight and awe with this series of 30 stories. While I almost made it, I'll admit to hitting the "next instalment" button twice on Day 29 to finish the gory task.

I loved the unexpected. Details one would expect in a normal life, with a twist. The one-word titles, the sparse, yet descriptive prose, the clin d'oeil to famous villains, the variety of settings, the creepy insight into human nature, and the melding and wielding of new technology.

I had the most fun laughing out loud while reading one story on my BlackBerry.

He has dug deep into the human psyche, pondered evil from all possible angles, and come up with surprising, off-the-wall, at times plausible, stories that readers of sci-fi are sure to gobble up.

Wellington's stories are like hot peppers, or chocolates, which a true fan cannot leave untouched. They are great-and addictive-food for thought.

Any plans for the next 30?

Fun!

I loved these modern ghost stories! I surprised by the variety - David Wellington's imagination (and ability to throw curves) is amazing!

Great

I totally recommend this book! The stories were both strange and compelling. Definitely a page turner.

Not my style

I've got to give the writer credit, the stories were creative, and drew me in, but ultimately a little too weird for me...
