His nametag reads, BETRAYED. Once sacred, He has been trashed, lowered to a level worthy of spit and slime. He hangs there, His face in anguish at the thought of being perceived as less than a humble Servant to God, sent to bear the sins of all men. Blasphemer, repent.

We move immediately, abandoning home, retirement, peace.
She hated him, so we did all the work.
One year later, he’s dead.
She doesn’t need us anymore, called the moving van…...
Hubby’s mother now wants our money.

We spend our first night together throwing wedding shoes at noisy crickets
The next morning we complain, hoping to get our money back.
Falling on deaf ears, we recoup our losses by taking all the donuts.
Now I’m the deaf one. Don’t hear crickets any more,
Can’t eat donuts.
Bummer.

Too tempting, that log.
Stretches across a swamp filled with trash and muck
Sister walks the log, says it’s easy.
I walked the log.
Fell in.
Hid naked in the sand waiting for my clothes to dry,
Hoping mom wouldn’t notice.
She noticed.
Ouch.
